Emily is a mental health social worker with over 15 years of practice, counselling, leadership, management and research experience in the community service sector.
She brings a critical, intersectional feminist, trauma-and violence-informed lens to her work, and has specialist knowledge in domestic, family and sexual violence, sexual exploitation, gender inequality and preventing violence against women.
With degrees in Psychology and Social Work, Emily is near completion of her PhD, focusing on trauma-and violence-informed complex trauma and mental health services. She has mental health training as a counsellor, professional supervisor, and emotion-focused therapist, in mindfulness, somatic experiencing, trauma therapy and feminist counselling.
