What are Emily’s Counselling Qualifications?

With a degree in Psychology and in Social Work, extensive training and 15 years of experience in counselling and trauma therapy, I offer counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups. As an accredited Mental Health Social Worker, I offer Medicare rebated sessions.

What issues does Emily offer counselling to support?

Does Emily support gender-diverse people?

My feminist approach means I am inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds with a focus on minority populations and I, therefore, am honoured to support gender-diverse people. I have experience supporting many people from the LGBTIQ+ community and bringing an intersectional feminist lens to my practice.

Location, fees and rebates

Where are counselling services delivered?

I offer sessions via Telehealth using video conference or phone and can be flexible with times/days for telehealth services.

I also offer face to face sessions in Williamstown on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2/22 Ferguson St Williamstown at Chrysalis Allied Health.

What are the fees for counselling and supervision services?

Please see information on Medicare Rebates below – I am an accredited Mental Health Social Worker who can offer Mental health Care Plans, which you can request from your GP, which will give you a Medicare rebate of $82.30 per session.

Individual counselling – $145 concession $185 full fee /50-minute session

Couples & Family counselling – $220/75-minute session

Group counselling- $110 per person/hour (sessions range from 1-2 hours).

Professional Supervision (individual) – $160 when individually funded, $220 organisationally funded /60-minute session

Professional Group Supervision – $110 per person/ hour (sessions range from 1-2 hours)

*Concession applies to anyone with a healthcare card or experiencing financial difficulty. Financial difficulty can be discussed with Emily to arrange a concession rate.

Am I able to access Medicare rebates for counselling sessions?

I am Medicare accredited as a Mental Health Social Worker. People seeking counselling services can see their GP to request a Mental Health Care Plan to receive a Medicare rebate of around $82.30 per session for individual counselling and around $20.90-$38.70 per person per group session, depending on the length of sessions.
